Spanning from around 40,000 years ago to today, Things Past turns to hands and clouds in order to construct an eccentric history of technology. This history is unstable, as are the works—they change with the light, a positive image becoming a negative or simply disappearing in different conditions. New histories emerge, new forms coalesce and dissolve. The old light of photographs is revived by that of today, reanimating past lives. Boundaries are breached, the fixed unfixed.
